Effective date: September 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how iKawn Inc., operating the iKawn and iKawn Mirror services ("iKawn", "we", "our" or "us"), collects, uses, stores, shares and protects information when you visit ikawn.com, contact us, use iKawn Mirror, or interact with an iKawn-powered virtual try-on experience.
Try-on privacy at a glance
| Type of try-on | Recording and permitted use | Retention and deletion |
|---|---|---|
| Demo or unpaid try-on | May be recorded. Recordings may be used for marketing, internal staff training, product demonstrations, service evaluation and, where clearly disclosed and legally permitted, improvement of relevant models or workflows. | Retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the disclosed purposes, legal obligations, dispute resolution, security or enforcement of our rights. Applicable privacy rights remain available. |
| Paid try-on | Privacy protected. Paid Try-On Content is not used for AI or model training, marketing, promotional materials, internal demonstrations or staff training. | Raw try-on media is automatically deleted after the retention period configured for the service and communicated in the applicable customer agreement, order form or product notice. An earlier deletion request may be sent to support@ikawn.com. |
1. Scope and data controller
This Policy applies to our websites, hosted demonstrations, virtual try-on tools, retail kiosks, brand activations, ecommerce integrations, support channels and related services (collectively, the "Services"). iKawn Inc. is the data controller where it decides why and how Personal Data is processed. For some paid brand deployments, the customer brand may be the controller and iKawn may act as its processor; in that case, the customer's privacy notice and contract with iKawn also apply.
"Personal Data" means information that identifies, relates to, describes or could reasonably be linked with an identifiable person.
2. Information we collect
Website and contact information
- Name, work email, phone number, company, role and information you submit through a form or support request.
- Device, browser, approximate location, IP address, referral source, page activity, cookie identifiers and diagnostic logs.
- Commercial information connected with an enquiry, order, subscription, invoice or customer relationship.
Virtual try-on information
- Photos, uploaded media, live camera frames or video used to provide the try-on.
- Garment or product selections, prompts, preferences, generated outputs and session interactions.
- Technical metadata such as timestamps, device information, session identifiers, performance logs and error reports.
- Audio only where a particular experience requests microphone access and you choose to grant it.
iKawn does not use try-on media to identify you or create biometric identity templates unless a specific feature clearly discloses that purpose and obtains any consent required by law.
3. Demo and unpaid try-ons
A "Demo or Unpaid Try-On" is any trial, evaluation, sample, free experience or other try-on session that is not delivered under an active paid iKawn customer deployment. These sessions may be recorded. A recording may include camera or uploaded media, generated output, selections, screen or session activity, and associated technical metadata.
We may use Demo or Unpaid Try-On recordings to operate and evaluate the Services, investigate technical issues, train staff, create internal or customer demonstrations, develop marketing or promotional material, and improve relevant models or workflows where that use has been disclosed and is legally permitted. Where applicable law requires an additional notice or consent for a particular use, we will seek it.
If you do not agree to these recording and use terms, do not begin or continue a Demo or Unpaid Try-On. You must not submit another person's image or include another person in a recording unless you have their lawful permission.
4. Paid try-ons
A "Paid Try-On" is a session delivered under an active paid iKawn customer subscription, order form or deployment agreement. It remains a Paid Try-On even when the end user or shopper does not personally pay for the session.
Paid Try-On Content is privacy protected. We process it only to deliver, secure, troubleshoot and support the paid service, comply with law, or follow the documented instructions of the customer acting as controller. We do not use or permit Paid Try-On Content to be used for AI or model training, marketing, promotional content, internal demonstrations or staff training.
Raw Paid Try-On Content is automatically deleted after the retention period configured for that paid service and communicated through the applicable customer agreement, order form, deployment notice or product interface. Limited billing, security, fraud-prevention or audit records may be retained longer where necessary, but we seek to avoid retaining raw try-on media in those records.
5. Why we process information
Depending on the context and applicable law, we process information to perform a contract, respond to your request, obtain and act on consent, comply with legal obligations, and pursue legitimate interests that do not override your rights. These purposes include:
- providing, personalising, maintaining and securing the Services;
- generating virtual try-on output and returning it to the user or customer;
- responding to enquiries, support requests and deletion requests;
- measuring website and service performance and correcting faults;
- preventing misuse, fraud, security incidents and unlawful activity;
- sending service messages and, where permitted, marketing communications;
- using Demo or Unpaid Try-On Content for the purposes described in Section 3; and
- meeting accounting, regulatory, legal and dispute-resolution requirements.
6. How we share information
We do not sell Personal Data. We may share information only as reasonably necessary with:
- cloud hosting, AI processing, content delivery, analytics, communications, payment and technical service providers acting for us;
- the brand, retailer or organisation that provides a paid deployment, where it controls the customer experience;
- professional advisers, auditors, insurers and prospective transaction parties subject to appropriate duties; and
- courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other authorities where required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety and security.
Service providers receive only the access reasonably required for their role. For Paid Try-On Content, iKawn does not permit service providers to use that content to train AI models or for their own marketing.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain Personal Data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, the applicable customer agreement, and legal, tax, accounting, security or dispute-resolution requirements. Retention periods may differ by category and jurisdiction.
To request deletion of a Paid Try-On recording or other Personal Data, email support@ikawn.com. Include the approximate date and time of the session, the brand or website where it occurred, and any session or account identifier available to you. We may request information needed to verify your identity and locate the relevant record. We will act within the period required by applicable law, subject to lawful retention exceptions.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect Personal Data, including access controls, data minimisation and security monitoring appropriate to the service. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. International transfers
Our providers and customers may operate in multiple countries. Where Personal Data is transferred across borders, we use safeguards required by applicable law, such as contractual protections or recognised transfer mechanisms.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of information, withdraw consent, opt out of certain marketing, or complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to legal limitations.
Submit a privacy or deletion request to support@ikawn.com. We may need to verify your identity. If a brand or retailer is the controller for a paid deployment, we may direct your request to that organisation or assist it in responding.
11. Cookies and analytics
We use necessary cookies and may use analytics technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand website usage, maintain the Services and evaluate campaigns. Browser settings and any consent controls we provide can be used to manage non-essential cookies.
12. Children
Our Services are not directed to children. A minor should use a try-on experience only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian and where the deploying brand has provided any notices and safeguards required by law. If you believe we have collected a child's Personal Data without appropriate authorisation, contact support@ikawn.com.
13. Third-party services
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, commerce platforms or applications. Their privacy practices are governed by their own notices, and iKawn is not responsible for services it does not control.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in our Services, contracts or legal obligations. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice where required.
